Since one of my WIPs this past week was a seamless braid-in sample, I thought I'd expand on that a little.
Erin Halvorsen on YouTube is how I first learned about this technique. Along with the series on the 4 strand oval braid rug linked in Wednesday's post she also has a series on using 5 strands to make a rectangle shape. % strands aren't necessary in making a rectangle, but she said she'd had a lot of requests for a tutorial on that shape so decided to combine the two.
Thread Faction Studio has a tutorial on making round mats with the same technique, but building up to 6 or even 8 strands as a way to speed up the work. Their piece also has a cool two-color pinwheel effect that I'm looking forward to trying.
